Every wondered how to set goals and accomplish them on a daily basis? Intentions can be great but how can you to turn those plans into real achievements?
HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TO BE DOING IN FIVE YEARS’ TIME?
The problem is we live such a busy life we react to what is right in front of us rather than plan for the future.
If you want to succeed, you need to set goals. Without goals you lack focus and direction. Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life’s direction; it also provides you a benchmark for determining whether you are actually succeeding. Think about it: Having lots of money in the bank is only proof of success if one of your goals is to rich. If your goal is to practice acts of charity, then keeping the money for yourself is suddenly contrary to how you would define success.
“I WANT” AND EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN
To accomplish your goals, however, you need to know how to set them. You can’t simply say, “I want” and expect it to happen. Goal setting is a process that starts with careful consideration of what you want to achieve, and ends with a lot of hard work to actually do it. In between there are some very well defined steps that transcend the specifics of each goal. Knowing these steps will allow you to formulate goals that you can accomplish.
For example, you goal may be to pay off my mortgage within 5 years. So in order for you to do this you may need to work smarter not harder to achieve it. This goal gives you a long-term vision and short-term motivation.
BUT IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
Look at it
In my case my house was a goal. Setting a goal that you can actually see is massively more powerful than a goal you write down on a checklist.
Tell Friends
Making yourself accountable to friends and family is one of the best ways to reach you goals.
Break it up
Many people abandon goals because they’re just too big. That is why I chose my goal as I can see very easily on a monthly basis and how close I am getting to my annual target.
Be realistic
Don’t set yourself up for failure by letting dreams get bigger than your abilities. That’s not to say don’t set hard goals for yourself, just make sure they’re attainable.
Commit To It
Commit and then re-commit each time you fall because that will happen along the way.
So remember
By following these easy steps you can set and achieve the goals that make you happy in life.
