Job Title: Associate Director, EHS
Location: West of Ireland
Company: Expanding Life Science Manufacturer
Overview:
An expanding life science manufacturer in the West of Ireland is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). This is a pivotal role within the site's senior leadership team, responsible for shaping and delivering all EHS strategies and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Provide leadership and management to the EHS team, including direct oversight of the EHS Manager.
- EHS Programmes: Establish and implement effective EHS programmes in compliance with legislative and corporate requirements, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Compliance & Strategy: Develop integrated Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Energy Management Systems. Provide strategic guidance to ensure compliance with licences, legislation, and best practices.
- Audits & Assessments: Oversee audits, assessments, surveys, and reports to maintain the highest EHS standards.
- Emergency Response: Develop and direct emergency response, loss prevention, occupational health services, training, occupational hygiene programmes, and process safety initiatives.
- Future Planning: Identify future EHS needs and ensure alignment with recognised EHS management standards and industry best practices.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Essential:
- BSc in Occupational Safety & Health (Level 8) or equivalent.
- 8-10+ years of EHS experience within life science manufacturing (pharma preferred).
- Proven leadership skills, with a strong track record of people management and development.
- Desirable:
- MSc in Environmental Health & Safety.
Attributes:
- Strong strategic vision and the ability to drive EHS excellence.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Demonstrated success in leading EHS compliance and operational programmes in a manufacturing setting.
