Associate Director Global Procurement

Company: Leading Global Healthcare Manufacture

My client is a leading global healthcare manufacturer, experiencing significant growth through acquisition. With an established global corporate headquarters in Ireland, they operate multiple global manufacturing sites and offer a prolific range of products. As their expansion continues, they are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team as Associate Director of Procurement level.This role involves strategically managing a niche portfolio of technical commodities and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with key personnel in strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Host supplier business reviews with strategic suppliers.
  • Negotiate, draft, and implement supplier contracts.
  • Manage the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply in key commodities.
  • Develop strategies for supplier consolidation.
  • Drive inventory reductions through supplier MOQ negotiations and VMI programs.
  • Work cross-functionally with the product development team to streamline the new product development process and minimize lead time to market.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability of the product.

Experience Required:

  • Ideally, 10 plus procurenement experience at global or regional level within life science manufacturing.
  • Extensive direct materials sourcing experience across a wide range of commodities.
  • Excellent strategic supplier management skills.
  • Strong track record in managing a niche portfolio of technical commodities and suppliers.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost improvements and manage supplier relationships.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic supplier consolidation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory reduction strategies.
  • Experience working with product development teams to ensure manufacturability and streamline processes.
