Company Overview: A global biopharmaceutical manufacturer with multiple global manufacturing sites has recently experienced significant expansion through acquisitions and the global launch of innovative products. Alongside this growth, there has been a substantial increase in global demand for their existing product portfolio. As a result, they need to increase capacity and output from their Cork-based manufacturing site.

Position: Manufacturing Director

Location: Cork, Ireland

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning of manufacturing operations to support increased capacity and output.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the tactical and operational performance of the manufacturing function, ensuring safety, quality compliance, delivery, cost control, and people management.
  • Issue Resolution: Coordinate department management activities, providing direction and assistance in resolving complex issues related to safety, quality compliance, or supply.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for budgeting, cost control, and the financial performance of manufacturing operations.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead all operational excellence projects on site to increase manufacturing output and reduce costs, aiming to improve the site's efficiency ranking across the organization's global manufacturing network.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in a relevant field, with a master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Product Knowledge: Experience with drug products or small molecules is preferred.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of increasing operational efficiency within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership experience within a manufacturing function is essential.
