Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Overview:

Our client, a leading FMCG production facility based in Meath, is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of production operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic environment at the heart of an organisation experiencing significant growth. The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes while leading a dedicated team of production staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the production facility, ensuring that all production goals, KPIs, and safety standards are met.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, lead, and motivate a team of production staff, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement, and adherence to company policies.
  • BRC Compliance: Ensure the facility operates in line with BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards, ensuring the highest levels of quality, safety, and hygiene in the manufacturing processes.
  • Process Optimisation: Continuously review and enhance production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain the high-quality standards expected in the FMCG sector.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and management of resources, including staff, machinery, raw materials, and equipment, to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are adhered to, creating a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring production schedules are met without overstocking or shortages.
  • Problem-Solving: Address production challenges quickly and effectively, minimising downtime and ensuring production targets are achieved.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on production performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement to senior management.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: A proven track record in managing production operations, ideally within the FMCG industry, with experience in a BRC approved manufacturing facility.
  • Leadership: Strong team management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions to address production issues.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of production processes, BRC standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment and able to adapt to business growth and evolving challenges.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels and provide clear direction.
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in operations management, engineering, or a related field is desirable.
