Job Title: Specifications Technologist
Location: Dublin (hybrid)
Role Summary
As a Specifications Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and safety of our product specifications. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage documentation, and contribute to the successful launch of new products.
Responsibilities
Product Specifications Creation and Review:
- Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to create and review detailed product specifications.
- Ensure accuracy in ingredient lists, allergen information, nutritional data, and packaging details.
Packaging and Labeling Compliance:
- Thoroughly review packaging artwork and labeling to meet legal requirements.
- Verify that all product labels adhere to industry standards and provide clear information to consumers.
Supplier Coordination:
- Collaborate with suppliers to verify raw material specifications.
- Ensure consistency in quality attributes across our product range.
Artwork Management:
- Oversee the artwork approval process, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and regulatory norms.
- Maintain an organized system for managing packaging artwork files.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay informed about food safety regulations, labeling laws, and industry trends.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external partners.
Project Management:
- Lead specifications projects related to new product launches, reformulations, and line extensions.
- Meet project deadlines and communicate progress effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years experience as a Food Technologist or Specifications Technologist in a food manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using specifications management software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food labeling regulations (e.g., EU regulations) is essential.
