Production Manager

My Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to join their dynamic manufacturing team. This role operates on a multi-product, multi-ingredient site, supporting a multi-skilled operations team in a hands-on, proactive way. The position reports to the Production Director and is a key member of the Operations Team. It will require working on a shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Manager, you will:

  • Lead and supervise a team with strong leadership, providing training, coaching, and direction to improve performance and skills.
  • Ensure production meets high-quality standards and adheres to schedules to fulfill customer orders and maintain inventory levels.
  • Support the Production Planner in preparing and validating production schedules.
  • Oversee adherence to the production schedule, ensuring resources, materials, and equipment are allocated efficiently.
  • Maintain manufacturing equipment in sanitary condition according to GMP policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee process and equipment changeovers to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production processes, resolve issues, and review records to ensure accuracy in material usage and yields.
  • Drive compliance with regulatory requirements, including batch record completion, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems to ensure product standards are consistently met.
  • Safeguard confidential information, intellectual property, and proprietary processes through established security protocols.

Skills and Experience Required

  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a relevant discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in a food, beverage, flavor, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Proven people management skills in a collaborative, team-based setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a world-class manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • The capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High proficiency in PC literacy and experience with SAP/Business Systems in regulated environments.
  • A track record of driving process improvements and collaborating cross-functionally.
